Dufour A 9000
She is a second hand boat and was sailed in the North and Baltic sea.
Only used privately and not used in charter.
Of the Dufour A 9000 production was only 24th Type I has been designed for Admiralscup as a pure racer. Most of these boats were built as a cruiser-racer with shorter mast and cozy wood development. The unusual decline over the deck was probably built mainly for security reasons. In case of bad weather and in the oncoming sea water can not get out of the cockpit inside the vessel. The sliding handle is a sealed water-tight. Nevertheless, this decline is because a loss of comfort.
The Dufour A 9000 is a fast ship with good upwind performance. The behavior at sea is very pleasant and we had never - even in high seas breaking a bad feeling with our ship. The oblique stem, the attached rudder with skeg, the keel firmly welded to the massive frames and solid construction to withstand give you the feeling and the worst storm this ship can be. Thus, the yacht has an empty weight of aluminum construction, despite more than 9 tonnes. The original price was at that time, according to the Voreigners more than twice as high as that of a comparable Halberg Rassy. Boat building in aluminum is now even more expensive than the wesendlich in CSF; wesendlich but has advantages in safety and durability, the elongation at break of CSF is only about 1%, - the elongation of aluminum 10 times as high. The custom is not the same panic once you've had a hard aground, and certainly there is no risk that might break off in rough seas keel or rudder.
Provided you avoid any electrolysis, aluminum timeless. The material is not brittle and can not be "smooth sailing".
